Umran Malik Bowls 157 Kmph Thunderbolt Against DC; Only 5 Kph Short Of Akhtar’s Record With Video Viral

Umran, on the other hand, had to deal with an anticlimax as DC hitter Rovman Powell sent the ball to the boundary for a four.

Umran Malik was not at his best for SunRisers Hyderabad against Delhi Capitals on Thursday, but it didn’t stop the teenage pace prodigy from breaking his own record for the quickest delivery bowled in the IPL this season. On the fourth delivery of the penultimate over of the Delhi innings, Umran sped in a 157 kmph delivery. Unfortunately for him, Rovman Powell, who was undefeated on 67 off 35 balls, smashed it for a boundary.
DC scored 19 runs in the final over of the first innings bowled by Umran. He finished with stats of 4/52 in four overs. This was the first time he gave more than 50 runs in an IPL match in his 13 appearances. Prior to the game against DC, Malik bowled a ball at 154 kmph during the CSK vs SRH match, which was touted as the fastest delivery of IPL 2022, but the bowler broke his own record by bowling at more than 157 kmph. He is the second-highest wicket-taker for Hyderabad in the IPL 2022, with 15 wickets in 10 games.
