When the men’s college basketball teams from Loyola Chicago and Duquesne Dukes played each other in Pittsburgh on Wednesday night, both teams expected a smooth game as a video of an Uber Eats employee went viral
Everyone would work hard, play for two full halves, and then go home. That is, until it seemed like someone at the game got very hungry. Did they go to the stadium’s concession stand, which was probably just a few minutes away from where they were sitting?
On January 25, during the second half of a basketball game between the Loyola Chicago Ramblers and the Duquesne Dukes, an Uber Eats delivery person walked onto the court.

In the middle of this college basketball game, what looked like an Uber Eats delivery person walked onto the court near the start of the second half. At one point, the person got so close to the action that one of the officials had to stop the game for a short time.

The man was seen holding a bag of McDonald’s and getting very close to Philip Alston, who was on the 3-point line for Loyola Chicago. Loyola Chicago was ahead 40-37 with 16:10 left in the game, and the game announcers couldn’t believe it.

Who are the Duquesne Dukes?
The Duquesne Dukes are the college basketball team for Duquesne University. Since its start in 1914, the team has only played in NCAA Division I and has been to the NCAA Tournament five times. The Dukes play in the Atlantic 10 Conference. They have been a part of that league since 1976. (minus the 1992–93 season in which the Dukes were single-season members of the Midwestern Collegiate Conference).
The Dukes men’s basketball team has done very well over the years. In the 1950s, they played in two national championship games and won the National Invitation Tournament in 1955.
Duquesne is the only school that has had the first overall pick in back-to-back NBA Drafts (Dick Ricketts by the Saint Louis Hawks in 1955 and Sihugo Green by the Rochester Royals in 1956). The Dukes men’s basketball team also had the first African-American player chosen in an NBA draught.
