After giving a speech advocating preserving women’s sports, college swimming champion Riley Gaines was ambushed by a group of yelling trans activists who assaulted her verbally and physically with a video of her being beaten viral

On Thursday, April 6, the 23-year-old Gaines was attacked on the campus of San Francisco State University and was compelled to shut herself inside a room.

Riley Gaines has posted a video of the assault.

The Olympic swimmer posted a video of the assault on social media. Gaines was seen being led out of the event in the video, which has been viewed more than 180,000 times.

“The asylum at SFSU is being controlled by the inmates. A man ambushed me and struck me twice in the body. This is evidence that women need sex-safe environments,” said 12-time All-American swimmer Gaines in the description of the video.

Statement from Gaines’ husband

Gaines’ husband, Louis Barker, allegedly asserted that they only exchanged brief words when she was sequestered in the room for around three hours. She said she was repeatedly struck by a man dressed in a dress.

“She was assaulted by a man wearing a dress while she was under police protection,” according to Barker. “To feel so helpless about it makes me sick.” Golden Gate Xpress, the student publication at the campus, shared early pictures of a tiny demonstration before Gaines arrived on Thursday night.

The chaos peaked, according to another video of the incident, and Gaines had to be led by police down a hallway and out of the room. As the former swimming champion was being taken to a safer location, protesters could be heard hanging transgender flags from walls and chanting “Get the f**k home” and “Trans women are women.” Also, the newspaper published multiple images of TPUSA staff members being restrained and escorted away from the demonstration.

What was said about the incident by Gaines’ agent?

Eli Bremer, Riley Gaines’ agent, provided Fox News with a detailed statement. “Tonight, Riley Gaines spoke at San Francisco State University to share her personal narrative of competing against a biological male athlete, Lia Thomas, at the Women’s NCAA Swimming Championships last year,” Bremer said.

Her purpose in speaking at universities over the past year has been to inform her classmates about her experience and the potential effects of the increasing presence of biological men in women’s sports on the integrity of Title IX. The agent stated, “She has been questioned about her opinions in both polite and sometimes impolite ways, and she wholeheartedly embraces varied viewpoints and debate on this matter.”
