On social media, footage of stewards conducting a pitch invasion following Millwall’s Championship match against Peterborough United has gone viral.
Millwall defeated Peterborough 3-0 owing to goals from Benik Afobe and George Saville, as well as an own goal by Josh Knight.
Championship play-offs alive for Millwall
The result keeps the Lions’ narrow chances of making the Championship play-offs alive. With one game remaining, Gary Rowett’s side sit eighth in the table, three points behind sixth-placed Sheffield United and one point below Middlesbrough.
Millwall’s season comes to a close next Saturday when they travel to Bournemouth. If they win that and other results go their way, they may be able to challenge in the play-offs for a place in the Premier League.

He felt it was a fantastic effort, Rowett said after his team’s final home game of the season, according to BBC Sport. “I believe the only sadness is we had so many chances second half that we could have scored five or six goals today.”
“I think the players have done so well at home again; it’s another strong second-half performance at home.”
“However, we’re not in this position for the first time, and it’s not the first time we’ve been in this position to take care of our own side of the business and take it to the final game of the season, even if it’s a long shot.”
