Video footage of a steward failing comically to release an Everton fan tied to a goalpost with bolt cutters has gone viral
The wonderful world of Everton and comedy moving in unison has been the tale of the underachieving season this campaign. Be it Rafa Benitez or Frank Lampard, not have been able to stem the rot which has engulfed the club with the side finding itself precariously close to the relegation zone at the moment.

Its what made their showdown against Newcastle United on Thursday a pivotal one with the club in dire need of three points at Goodison Bridge. However, the hosts looked laggard and dreary once again, a match which needed one bemusing fan to embark on his shenanigans to find some spark.
The snooze fest finally came to light when one Everton fan decided to wanted to zip tie himself to the goalpost. At the start of the second half, a man wearing a T-shirt that read “Just Stop Oil” ran onto the pitch and attached himself to the post with a cable tie, causing the match to be paused for around seven minutes as stewards brought out massive bolt cutters to free him.
However, despite the best of his efforts, the steward was unable to cut off the cable tie with the cutters with him going viral for putting in more hardwork than Everton have this season. The fan was eventually escorted off the pitch with Everton going onto scram their way to a much needed 1-0 win on the night.
