Video of what turned out to be a fairly pitiful fight between Sheffield Wednesday and Plymouth fans on Saturday has gone viral

Watch the viral video below.

In a 30-second video taken before the game when fans arrived at Hillsborough, we see the softest of punches, kicks, and falling over. A group of elderly guys who believe they still have it in them to identify one another are, quite plainly, laughed at by spectators outside the arena and by viewers at home.

Match highlights: Sheffield Wednesday 1-0 Plymouth Argyle

The actual game was rather a contentious one, with both sets of fans criticising the referee John Busby for the entire 90 minutes. After defeating League One’s top team, Plymouth Argyle, 1-0, Sheffield Wednesday moved to the top of the standings. When he turned and buried Will Vaulks’ cross at the near post, Callum Paterson gave the Owls the lead early on. A second quarter that had the appearance of about to blow up saw both teams trading chances.

A contentious offside decision led to Wednesday’s second goal being disallowed. While a teammate was in an offside position, he leapt over the goalbound attempt to prevent George Byers’ goal from going in. The assistant raised his flag. Yorkshire equals Pilgrims with 61 points, but Pilgrims prevails because of a superior goal differential and an unfinished game.

Darren Moore was full of praise for his team.

Owls manager Darren Moore stated the team’s performance as complete over the pitch during the post-match conference. The manager added that since they were playing the league’s best squad, they had to start the game the way they did. He was really happy for the players as they came out strong to put the opponent on the back foot. He further praised his defence and asserted that Cameron needed to make a few saves against the league leaders.

His team deserves to be where it is today, at the top of the table. He is thrilled for the supporters and for everyone associated with Sheffield Wednesday. Even though staying at the top is quite difficult now, however, he has promised the fans to accomplish that by keep doing the job that has gotten them as table toppers.
