Before speaking with police, they said they saw Kemp drive around the parking lot and put his gun into a shrub.
Later scenes suggest that the handgun was discovered by the police in a shrub near the parking lot.
Shawn Kemp says it was for a self-defence
According to close sources of Kemp, who spoke to FOX 13, the shooting was done in self-defence. On Tuesday, he allegedly had items stolen from his car as he was attempting to reclaim them.
The reports said that on Wednesday, he used his iPhone to find Tacoma, and as soon as he approached the vehicle, a suspect fired shots. They asserted that he retaliated out of self-defense.
