Samuel Eto’o, a former Cameroon footballer, can be seen assaulting a fan in a now viral video footage just outside Qatar’s Stadium 974.

The incident occurred on Monday night right after Brazil’s 4-1 win over South Korea.

Samuel Eto’o is a retired Cameroon footballer, who played for some of Europe’s biggest clubs like Barcelona, Inter Milan, and Chelsea after graduating from Real Madrid’s academy.

The Viral Video Of Samuel Eto’s Assaulting A Fan

In the now viral video, Samuel Eto’o can be seen taking selfies with fans before he got involved in assaulting a fan who was holding a video camera. The victim, approached Eto’o to his right when he was taking selfies.

The video doesn’t give a clear audio of what exactly the man said that annoyed Eto’o. However, whatever it was, the former footballer was clearly annoyed by the comment, and he started to chase him.

Samuel Eto’o, who is currently the Cameroon FA president reacted in a violent manner and began to chase the cameraman. Several bystanders around the Cameroon international made attempts to hold him back when he approached the man, who was attempting to grab and shove him away.

The video further shows the former footballer and the cameraman or supporter getting into a physical fight. Eto’o then proceeded to attack the man with his knee and knock him to the ground. Since the man was bending down, he was unaware of Eto’o who had returned to continue the confrontation.

Samuel Eto’o Career Stats And Records

Samuel Eto’o is Cameroon’s all-time leading scorer and also the third-most-capped player, having scored 56 goals earned 118 caps. He is arguably the best player to have ever played for Cameroon. While playing for his national side, Eto’o managed to win the Africa Cup of Nations twice in 2000 and 2002.

Throughout his national team career, Samuel Eto’o has played in four World Cups and six Africa Cup of Nations. In fact, he holds another record of being the all-time leading scorer in the history of the Africa Cup of Nations. He has scored altogether 18 goals throughout the competition. Eto’o retired from international football back in 2014.

As for his professional club career, Eto’o began his journey at Real Madrid where he joined as 16-year-old back in 1997. Later, the Cameroon legend signed up for Barcelona from 2004 to 2009. He has also went on to play for Inter Milan and Chelsea after leaving Barcelona.

At one point of his career, game experts regarded Samuel Eto’o as one of the best strikers in the world. He is still widely recognised as one of the greatest African players of all time.
