A fight broke out at a middle school basketball game in Vermont on Tuesday night, injuring a 60-year-old man Russell Giroux so badly that he eventually died with the brawl video viral
The fight happened in Alburgh at the Alburgh Community Education Center. Alburgh and St. Albans middle school boys in the seventh and eighth grades were playing in the basketball game.

In the viral video of the incident, several adults can be seen running to the court. The adults were seen kicking and punching each other as the kids watched from the sidelines.
It is not yet clear what started the fighting. Vermont State Police said in a statement on Wednesday that the police were finally called and arrived at the scene just before 7 p.m. At the time, the chaos had been brought under control, and some of the people who had been fighting had already left the school.
A old man named Russell Giroux of Alburgh, Vermont, was hurt during the incident. After the fight was over, the troopers came and took Giroux by ambulance to the Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans, where he was pronounced dead. The Vermont state police and the state’s attorney’s office in Grand Isle are looking into his death.
The reason Giroux died has not yet been found. The office of the state medical examiner plans to do an autopsy. In recent years, there has been more violence at youth sporting events. Two weeks ago, a boy’s basketball game in Oklahoma ended with a shooting that sent one man to the hospital.
