Rudy Gobert and Kyle Anderson got into a fight during Sunday’s game between the Minnesota Timberwolves and the New Orleans Pelicans with the video of the incident viral
This was a surprising turn of events. The event happened in the second quarter, when the Timberwolves were behind by 48-36. On the Timberwolves bench, Gobert and Anderson were seen fighting before Gobert punched Anderson.

No matter how frustrated you get, you should NEVER throw a punch at your teammate. Rudy Gobert is completely out of pocket for this. pic.twitter.com/5ob9VF3BT2

Anderson tried to fight back, but his friends and people working for the Timberwolves stopped him. Gobert was sent home because of what he did, and it’s still not clear if the team or league will ban him. Gobert’s absence could hurt the Timberwolves a lot, especially since Jaden McDaniels is probably out after breaking his hand hitting a wall earlier in the day.

Minnesota came back to win the game, 113-108, which gave them the eighth spot in the Western Conference. The seventh place is at stake when the Timberwolves go to Los Angeles to play the Lakers. The Pelicans will host the Oklahoma City Thunder for the chance to play the loser of that game and win the eighth spot.
Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN shed some light on the situation by saying that Anderson said, “Shut the f— up, bitch,” when Gobert told him to get a rebound. Wojnarowski also said that the fight went from being a verbal argument to a physical one.
Who is Rudy Gobert? His all star and all defensive record!
Rudy Gobert, a three-time Defensive Player of the Year, made the All-Star team in each of his last three seasons with the Utah Jazz. But in his first year with the Minnesota Timberwolves, he didn’t make the team. He is expected to be named to one of the two All-Defensive Teams for the seventh year in a row. From 2017 to 2022, he was on the First Team every year.

This season, Kyle Anderson has averaged 9.4 points, 5.3 rebounds, 4.9 assists, 1.1 steals, and 0.9 blocks per game. He has made 50.8% of his field goals, 41.3% of his 3-pointers, and 73.5% of his free throws.
The fight between Gobert and Anderson has made many fans and experts wonder what it means for the Timberwolves’ chances of making the playoffs. Gobert could get suspended, and McDaniels is already out with an illness, so the team could face some big problems in the future. We don’t know how things will turn out, but one thing is clear: the Timberwolves have a hard road ahead of them.
