In one of the most remarkable chases in T20 cricket, Rinku Singh blasted 5 consecutive sixes in the final over to guide KKR to a stunning victory over Gujarat Titans in the IPL with the video now viral

Singh’s heroics helped his team chase down a target of 205, which was the highest successful chase in IPL history at the time.

The stage was set for an enthralling encounter as both teams came into the match with a point to prove. The Titans were looking to continue their winning run after a close victory against Delhi Capitals, while the Knight Riders were aiming to bounce back from a defeat to Royal Challengers Bangalore.

The Titans got off to a flying start, with openers Sai Sudharsan and Shubman Gill putting on a 69-run partnership. They were soon joined by Vijay Shankar, who launched a brutal assault on the Knight Riders bowlers. The all-rounder smashed 63* off just 24 balls, which included four fours and six sixes, to take his team to a formidable total of 204/4.

In reply, the Knight Riders got off to a shaky start, losing wickets at regular intervals. However, Venkatesh Iyer played a brilliant knock of 83 off 40 balls to keep his team in the hunt. Captain Nitish Rana also contributed with 45 off 29 balls.

With 50 runs needed off the last 21 balls and just three wickets in hand, the Titans were the clear favorites to win the match. But then, Rashid Khan took a hat-trick in the 17th over to turn the match on its head. The leg-spinner dismissed Andre Russell, Sunil Narine, and Shardul Thakur in consecutive deliveries to leave the Knight Riders reeling.

But Rinku Singh, who was fresh off the back of a 46 against RCB at Eden Gardens, had other ideas. He took an over to settle down before launching an incredible assault on the Titans bowlers. With 39 runs needed from the last eight balls, Singh struck a four and a six before regaining the strike after the first ball of the final over.

The tension was palpable as Rinku Singh stepped up to the crease. He had to face experienced pacer Mohammed Shami, who had been exceptional throughout the match. But Singh was unfazed. He connected with the first ball and sent it sailing over the boundary. He repeated the feat with the second, third, fourth, and fifth balls to complete a remarkable feat of hitting five consecutive sixes in the final over.

The crowd erupted in celebration as the Knight Riders secured a historic victory. Rinku Singh finished unbeaten on 48 off just 21 balls, with his five sixes in the final over being the most ever struck in the final over of any T20 match.
