Having become a team which has learnt the art of losing matches for winning positions, Punjab showed why they have had to encounter the brunt of jokes over the years. Up against Gujarat Titans in IPL 2022 on Friday night, Punjab ended up making a meal of what was a winning position with Odean Smith losing his marbles in the tailend of the tie.

With the Titans needing 13 off the last two deliveries, Smith first went onto not only concede an overthrow but eventually be cleaned off the park by Tewatia. The Titans player was unnerved despite the daunting task infront of him as he played some lusty blows to smash two sixes on the bounce and with it hand Gujarat their third win on the spin in the marquee competition.
The heroics aren’t new for Tewatia, a player who over the last couple of years has gone onto make a name for himself. Despite not being the most flamboyant of players, Tewatia is someone who thrives when the stakes are elevated with him showing why he can be a match winner at any given time with his mammoth hits.
The win meanwhile saw new entrants Gujarat Titans keep their 100% winning record in the league intact.
