Rahul Dravid mentioned it was not the perfect moment to debate about the individual performance. Instead, Sri Lanka’s head coach and India’s captain and head coach praised it as a combined effort.
“We said that they would respond. We must show respect for the opposition. They replied, and we responded like champions. We found a way to win even though we had our backs to the wall. “I’m really proud of all of you, and very well done,” Dravid stated.
Dravid stated he suspected that after having to lose their first ODI Sri Lanka would come back hard, although he was happy as Team India handled the crisis as a champion to the host’s charge.
Ind vs SL ODI Series: Deepak Chahar Won The Player Of The Match
The star representing India was Deepak Chahar. Supporting with the two vital strikes while bowling, Chahar remained unbeaten on 69 from 82 deliveries and chipped along with Bhuvneshwar Kumar (19*).
An 84-run partnership for the 8th wicket, whilst Team India was weakened to 193 for 7 while seeking 276 for a win. India finally finished the game sparing five deliveries.
The match-winning knock ensured victory for Team Indian and Deepak Chahar won the player of the match title and guided them to a 2-0 lead in the ODI series.
