Pitch invaders often end up giving us moments of aboslute sporting gold. Their innate desperation to be in the limelight albeit for a couple of seconds has seen them resort to some of the weirdest shenanigans as they storm the pitch.

From streaking naked to running around grounds, pitch invaders who are often under the influence of alcohol spare no expense to hog attention. The same was on show during day 3 of the second test match between England and India.

As India huffed and puffed to send Joe Root back to the pavilion, a pitch invader decided to storm the pitch and offer some much needed solace to a tiring Indian side. Wearing an Indian jersey, the pitch invader claimed to be a part of the Indian team as she showed his Indian badge to the umpire.

Whilst it was a brave guise with him turning out to be one of the more pleasant pitch invaders, his antics failed to swing in his way. He was soon escorted away from the field of play with the Indian team, in particular Mohammed Siraj left in splits over the incident.

The day was overall a tiresome and worrisome one for the Indian side with wayward and indiscipline bowling seeing England control proceedings on the day. The Indians failed to break the girt and gallantry of Joe Root who remained not out on 180 to take the home side to a crucial 30 run lead in the tie.
