Owen Woodward Attacks Josh Phillip During Weatherford College Baseball Game, Video Of Fight Goes Viral
“We are startled and dismayed at what transpired in our game today,” Weatherford head baseball coach Jeff Lightfoot said in a statement.
After blasting a two-run HR, NCTC’s Josh Phillips is leveled by Weatherford College’s Owen Woodward:
1) Clearly, Phillips said something because the ump is pointing to him
2) Clearly, Woodward ain’t playing baseball anytime soon

“This sort of behaviour is not acceptable to us. We’ve put in a lot of effort to create a programme that meets the highest of standards.”
On Wednesday, a college baseball pitcher resembled an NFL linebacker, utterly pummeling his opponent during the latter’s home run trot — and the entire thing was recorded on camera.
It happened just hours ago in the sixth inning of NCTC’s game against Weatherford in Weatherford, Texas. During the time NCTC first baseman Josh Phillips smashed a go-ahead home run off Owen Woodward.
It’s unclear if Phillips said anything to Woodward as he rounded the bases, but Woodward lunged at him and knocked him to the ground just as the slugger reached third base.
The strike was devastating. He flattened Phillips and sent his helmet flying yards away from his body.
Phillips’ teammates rushed to the scene to pile on Woodward, and Phillips somehow managed to climb up and touch home plate, giving NCTC the lead. Woodward was escorted away from the area with the help of his teammates and then dismissed from the game, probably.
According to a spokeswoman for the Weatherford Campus Police, they have not arrested Woodward. However, they have started investigating the incident.
Phillips, according to the spokeswoman, has “no life-threatening” injuries.
It remains to be seen if any action is taken against Woodward with the college currently not commenting on what investigations are underway in the deranged attack. However, a ban for him looks impending owing to his instaible thirst for violence. Phillips meanwhile is bound to be put to the sword as well with him having had said something to have gotten Woodward to fly into a rage.
