Speaking on Sports Tak, Vikrant Gupta had gone onto suggest that Virat Kohli could be dropped from the side after the ongoing T20 World Cup 2021
Over the years, Virat Kohli has gone onto accrue one of the largest and most loyal followings in the world of cricket. His sprawling expertise as a player paired with his consistency have seen him become a stalwart of the game.
However, while there have been no question marks over his skill set as a player, Kohli’s captaincy has often been put to the sword. The cricketer has failed to lift an ICC trophy over the years along with faltering in the IPL.
Vikrant Gupta Questions The Place Of Virat Kohli In India’s T20I Setup
And while criticism of his skills as a captain has been befitting and rightly directed, Vikrant Gupta had qualms about Kohli’s selection as a player in the Indian T20 setup as well. Speaking on Sports Tak, Vikrant went onto talk about how Kohli’s time could soon be up in the Indian T20 unit after the ongoing T20 World cup 2021 with him having apprehensions on if Kohli deserved to be in the team once he stepped down as the captain.

Vikrant’s comments left Kohli’s faithful massively irked with them taking to Twitter to lash out at the sports journalist. Shameonsportstak became one of the most trended topics on the social media platform as people lambasted Vikrant and his school of thought.
With Kohli having scored 1060 runs in T20s since 2019 at an average of 58.88 and a strike rate of 141.7, Vikrant was certainly barking up the wrong when he alluded towards Kohli’s time as a batsman being up in the shortest format of the game.
