The video of the streaker during the Blues vs Chiefs match in Eden Park has gone viral

The Chiefs’ 25-14 triumph in the first round was tarnished by the disturbance, which was the main skirmish in the second half.

One n*ked pitch invader tried his luck and raced straight into the middle of the action during Saturday night’s Super Rugby Pacific match at Eden Park, which caused some snickers.

However, Blues captain Patrick Tuipulotu expressed sympathy for the security personnel who had to dash between the Chiefs and his team’s players in order to catch a daring streaker who was heading toward a ruck.

A number of pitch invaders surged onto the field of play, leaving exhausted security to do the selfless duty of halting them but it was one stark n*ked man who stole the show as he made his way onto the pitch.

Most of incidents occurred on the sidelines and had no effect, however in Auckland, play had to be halted when a streaker came next to Chiefs players.

He appeared to be standing in the Chiefs’ attacking line, but it was unclear what his intentions were. A pitch invader doesn’t typically get this close to the action, so this was unusual.

In a replay of last year’s final, which the Blues won to end a 21-year title drought, the Chiefs had possession and led 18–14 with 10 minutes remaining.

Security circled the streaker as referee Damon Murphy blew his whistle to stop the game as the Chiefs recycled the ball in their own half. The Chiefs had to start play with a scrum after a brief delay.

“But I think where we were in that game, we’re pretty focused on trying to claw something back,” Tuipulotu said.

“It didn’t really take away from us and what we were trying to do. I do feel sorry for the security though.”

A few pitch invaders attempted to steal the spectacle, but the majority of the 25,200-strong crowd stayed seated despite brief bursts of intense rain.

Officials at Eden Park will probably review the series of altercations between them and security.

Luke Jacobson, the captain of the victorious Chiefs, found the humour. He was among the guys that could see the streaker the best. Had the Chiefs lost possession due to the next scrum caused by the streaker’s involvement, Jacobson might not have been as happy. With a try in the closing minutes, the Blues could have taken advantage of the situation and regained the lead again.

Vern Cotter, the coach of the Blues, didn’t appear that concerned.
