After reports had come in of national level wrestler Nisha Dahiya being shot and killed, with the Wrestling Federation of India rebutting such allegations in a video
Tuesday evening was rocked with the news of national level gold medalist wrestler, Nisha Dahiya having been shot at and killed in the Sushil Kumar Academy in Halalpur, Sonipat.
Reports Of Wrestler Nisha Dahiya Being Shot At And Killed Was Fake News
The wrestler’s brother was also said to have been a fatality in the reports which were released with mother Dhanpati said to have been critically injured as well. However, shortly after, Nisha released a video message through the Wrestling Federation of India where she vehemently denied the fake news being spread as she asserted that she was well.

Nisha also went onto dispel any rumours of her being shot at with her affirming that she was hale and hearty as was her family. Nisha who had won the bronze medal in the 65kg category at the Wrestling U23 World Championships in Belgrade, Serbia is currently in Gonda to partake in the senior nationals.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi had also taken note of Nisha’s riveting performance at the World Championships with him lauding her win on Twitter.
“Congratulations to Shivani, Anju, Divya, Radhika and Nisha for winning medals at the Wrestling Championships in Belgrade. Their performance is special and will contribute to wrestling becoming even more popular across India,” the Prime Minister had tweeted.
