The four-time Grand Slam champion was exploded with tearful comments during her second-round loss at the BNP Paribas tournament realising the terrible side of the fandom. The Japanese professional was booed by a fan from the spectators and according to the reports, she was booed with “Naomi, you suck.”

She was apparently crying while she went to the umpire complaining. She, in a post-game interview, told that the occurrence recalled her of what happened with the Venus sisters in the year 2001. “I just wanted to say thank you, I feel I cry enough on camera,” said Osaka, reported The Guardian.
She further said that it doesn’t really “bother” her anymore as this was not the first time that she got “heckled”. She watched the video of American sisters getting booed at the same tournament and the video ” got replayed a lot.”
Serena Williams and Venus Williams were racially abused at the event after which, they decided to boycott the event for 14 years.
Naomi missed majors at 2021 tennis season following her break from the game to look after her mental health, was into the Indian Open Masters tournament through a Wild Card entry. The player from Japan lost to Russian Veronika Kudermetova 6-0, 6-4 in the second round of the tournament. Osaka appeared for the first Grand Slam in Australia where she faced an early loss just in the third round being one of the favourites at the Australian Open 2022.
Replying to the incident that happened with Osaka, opponent Veronika stated that Naomi got the remembrance of what happened with Serena at the same event and that was the reason for her tears. The Russian also said, “It doesn’t matter. I know she’s strong, a great person. I think it will be good with her.”
