Anthony Rendon tries to punch Oakland fan, video goes viral

The Oakland Police Department is looking into what happened because the incident was caught on surveillance video. In a statement, the department said, “As a result, OPD created an incident, filed a report, and is actively looking into it.”

The fight happened right after the Angels lost to the Oakland A’s by a score of 2-1 at RingCentral Coliseum in Oakland. In the video, Anthony Rendon can be seen grabbing the fan’s shirt and pulling him down to the railing while saying, “You called me a bitch, huh?” The fan denies using offensive language, but Rendon continues to hold onto the shirt and talk to the fan. Then, he tries to hit the fan in the face, but the fan is quick enough to get away.

After the fight, Anthony Rendon told the other person,  “Get your bitch-ass out of here” and then went to the locker room without any more trouble. The Angels haven’t said anything about what happened yet.

Anthony Rendon’s altercation raises questions about conduct and accountability

The 32-year-old MLB star Anthony Rendon has had a few frustrating seasons since he signed a seven-year, $245 million deal with the team in 2019. Rendon has only played in 158 games in the last four years because of all the injuries he has had.

At this point, it’s not clear what, if anything, the Oakland Police Department will do in response to the fight. The investigation in Anthony Rendon case is still going on, and more information is likely to come out in the next few days.

This event shows how important it is to be professional and have good sportsmanship on and off the pitch. Professional athletes must uphold the highest levels of respect and dignity, or they risk facing significant consequences. As the investigation continues, both fans and players will closely monitor the actions taken in response to this fight.
