As he stood on the draught stage wearing a Coyotes cap, Lamoureux, a former player for the Drummondville Voltigeurs of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL), looked to watch the PDA moment take place.
The moment when Lamoreaux’s parents gave each other a big kiss in the happiness of their son being selected in the first round of the NHL draught was included on ESPN’s broadcast after the announcement, which got everyone talking.
When his parents aggressively locked lips, the 6-foot-7, 197-pound right-shooting defender appeared stunned. The incident left the ESPN announcers speechless.

SportsNation met up with Lamoureux’s father shortly after his son realised his childhood ambition of being selected in the NHL, and he was overtaken with emotion.
“The journey has been long. We have been considering this day. Maveric has been a great kid and has been putting in a lot of effort, according to Patrick,” a 1991 first-round pick of the Granby Bisons of the QMJHL.
Prior to becoming a coach and preparing other gymnasts at the top levels at the national level, Isabelle competed in gymnastics.
Lamoureux is the top-ranked defenseman from Quebec, coming in at number 20 on the NHL Central Scouting list.
“He told us he was going to play in the NHL when he was just four or five years old,” according to Isabelle, who spoke to NHL.com. “Yes, yes, that’s it, we said. Keep attending classes. We were aware of the slim chances.
