Daryl Dike lead the USA strike line to perfection as his two goals helped his side dominate the Martinique vs USA matchup in the CONCACAF Gold Cup 2021
Even before they had stepped out to take on Martinique in the CONCACAF Gold Cup 2021, USA were widely envisioned to hand out a clobbering to their lowly ranked French opponents. However, even the most rapturous of American soccer supporters wouldnโt have envisioned the 6-1 performance the side walked away with.
Despite dishing out a massively changed playing 11, one comprising of a string of young names, US pulled off an extremely clinical win on the night. The side was at its comprehensive best, dominating Martinique in each department of the game as it earned as fully deserving three points.
The countryโs 37th in the Gold Cup was one spearheaded by starlet Daryl Dike. The striker was at his endearing best as he showcased his innate talent to score twice in the showdown along with forcing an own goal.
Miles Robinson, Gyasi Zardes and Nicholas Gioacchini also scored for the visiting side to further bolster Gregg Berhalterโs side chances of lifting the coveted trophy.

Dikeโs exceptional showing was a testament to the massive strides heโs made in his career across the course of the last couple of seasons. Dike had earned a loan from Orlando City to Barnsley in Englandโs second tier League Championship.
He opened the scoring for his team in the 14th minute as he latched onto a cross from Hoppe to thump it past the goal-keeper. His seconds strike in the opening exchanges of the second half took his international tally to three goals.

Dikeโs performance saw him come up with a real statement of intent for a regular spot in his sideโs playing 11. While it remains to be seen if heโll be entrusted once again, the striker has more than aptly showcased his mettle to act as a true leader of the attack line.
The win puts the US in an extremely comfortable position as they vie for top spot in Group B ahead of their impending matchup.
