The army veteran made the controversial remark while advocating in favour of media organisations like The Print, Wire, and Scroll. These particular media outlets have recently been critical of the government.
While speaking in favour of them he was trying to praise to praise the famous journalist Barkha Dutt.

Maj Gen (Dr) YashMor was sharing in the viral video about how people call media organisations like The Wire, Print, Scroll, anti-Indians. But he argued that there is no anti-India and that everyone is patriotic.
He further shared that it is a good thing that the media is questioning the government and everyone must follow suit.
The army veteran further praised journalist Barkha Dutt. He stated that she was the one who interviewed Captain Vikram Batra and made him famous during the Kargil war. He added that no one would have known Vikram Batra if the interview didn’t take place.
The most controversial part of his statement came when the veteran stated that Batra would never have won or been recommended for the Param Vir Chakra if not for Barkha Dutt.

Vikram Batra was a valiant Indian soldier born on September 9, 1974. He hailed from Ghuggar village near Palampur in Himachal Pradesh.
Batra achieved great success in the Indian Army at just a young age due to his determination, courage, and leadership.
He lost his life while fighting in the Kargil War on July 7, 1999. Following his death and heroic sacrifice, captain Batra received the Param Vir Chakra, which is the highest gallantry award.
