On Tuesday, July 12, the Netherlands played against Hong Kong in the ongoing T20 World Cup Qualifier, winning by 7 wickets. The match was played out at the Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo. The Netherlands have so far played two matches in the qualifiers, managing to win both of them.

In the match, Logan van Beek stood out as the best player, dismissing Nizakat Khan, Scott McKenchie and Ehsan Khan. This earned him the Player of the Match and led him to become the first Dutch bowler to pick up a hat-trick.
Match Stats
Nizakat looked to be in excellent form, scoring 60 runs from 55 balls, with seven fours under his belt. Khan was the opening batsman for the match after Hong Kong won the toss and chose to bat first. Max O’Dowd and Bas de Leede scored 45 and 36* respectively to help the Dutch team get past the finish–line.
Logan van Beek also managed to get the prized wicket of Aizaz Khan, who couldn’t get a double digit score. Altogether, Van Beek finished the match with decent bowling figures of 4-0-27-4. His efforts helped the Netherlands bowl out Hong Kong for 116 in 18.1 overs.

In the process, Logan van Beek has become the 33rd bowler to pick up a hat-trick in T20Is. Van Beek has joined the likes of bowling legends like Brett Lee, Lasith Malinga, Jason Holder, Rashid Khan, Wanindu Hasaranga, Mohammad Hasnain and many other bowlers in the elite list.
The Netherlands will now be set to face Uganda on Thursday, July 14 in Bulawayo.
