Obvs the Liz Truss cheese speech is now more iconic than Churchill’s beaches – but I still don’t think the *level* of cringe/nonsense/hilarity is appreciated enough. Most clips don’t even get to the Isaac Newton apples bit. I will simply never get over this performance. pic.twitter.com/9lH7yCWnCO

My favourite part of the Liz Truss leadership launch was when she got lost leaving the room pic.twitter.com/wqRgtXXBEf

Following Cameron’s resignation in July 2016, Truss was chosen by Theresa May to serve as the Secretary of State for Justice and Lord Chancellor. Later she was chosen to serve as the Treasury’s chief secretary after the 2017 presidential election and never looked back.
Alike her political growth, she dazzled her education life as well by being a president of the University Liberal Democrats during her college life. She studied politics, philosophy, and economics at Merton College, Oxford where she staunch advocate for the abolition of the monarchy which gradually shifted post her graduation.
When her improbably enthusiastic talk about opening a pork market in Beijing went viral in 2014, the worlds of social media and politics collided. It was mocked by television shows such as Have I Got News For You?
Further hilarity ensued when she said to the Tory Party conference that year, “We import two-thirds of our cheese. That’s a disgrace.”
Her famous speech about British exports won hearts where she was found bragging about “growing wheat more competitively than the Canadian prairies and selling Yorkshire Tea to China”. She feels overwhelmed with British food and drinks being so good as never before.
She also spoke about going to sell pork in China, an interview which has become a meme after resurfacing and going viral.
