Krunal Pandya once again managed to dish out a bemusing moment on the pitch as he decided to hug Charith Asalanka during the tie
Ever since he’s made his foray onto the international stage, Krunal Pandya has managed to emerge as a universally hated player. Its not so much down to his average skills as a player but rather his petulant personality and abhorrent behaviour on the field.
Witnessed berating his counterparts after himself sending down shocking deliveries, Pandya’s decadent behaviour hasn’t sat down well with viewers of the beautiful game. He’s time and time again indulged in scuffles in be it the IPL or Indian team colors.
The most notable one was his tiff with Deepa Hooda who had accused Pandya of abusing him. Hooda who had withdrawn from Baroda’s setup had only recently decided that he had decided to switch allegiance and move base from Baroda in India’s domestic arena owing to Pandya’s misdemeanours.
Sri Lanka vs India First ODI: Krunal Pandya Gives A Hug To Charith Asalanka
Krunal managed to stay in the limelight once again when India stepped out to take on Sri Lanka on Sunday. However, this time it was for the completely different reason with Pandya leaving people in splits after he decided to hug Charith Asalanka during Sri Lanka’s innings.
Pandya’s act has left many baffled with many talking about his placated behaviour as a direct effect of Rahul Dravid being in charge of the team. Pandya meanwhile managed to surprisingly enough dish out a decent spell of bowling as well as he snared Dhananjaya da Silva’s wicket on the night.

He was also India’s most economical bowler on the day as he rushed through his wickets to pick up a wicket, deliver a maiden over and end up with neat figures of 1-26. Pandya’s ability to keep Sri Lanka’s batsmen in shackles epitomised the horrid state of Sri Lankan cricket at the moment with the side falling apart like a house of cards.
The team was at 224-8 in 47 overs after a solid start with a howler of a middle-order collapse leaving the country’s innings in tatters.
