I’m here to speak on behalf of all players, not just myself, Richardson said, “You guys should respect athletes more when you conduct interviews. You should be aware of whether, given the circumstances, they are coming from a winning or losing situation. A lot more respect should be shown to athletes than when you just show up with cameras in hand.
“Before asking questions, learn how an athlete thinks and behaves. Then, be more understanding of the fact that people are still human, even though you’re just trying to write anything in an article to get money. I appreciate it.
Richardson wasn’t done yet; in her Instagram story, she delivered a stern message to both her admirers and detractors.
“I truly have nothing to explain to you, but I do want to thank my supporters. The journey has been long and is still ongoing. I have another video for my detractors.”

Richardson’s performance in the 200 rounded out a challenging U.S. meet for her after she failed to place in the first round of her signature event, the 100 metres.
Despite having qualified for the 100 in Tokyo, Richardson did not take part in the competition due to a marijuana test result. She received a 30-day penalty, which prevented her from competing in the event in Tokyo, and she hasn’t been able to rekindle the passion she once had for the game.
