Basketball player for Eastern Illinois Kinyon Hodges didn’t like what a fan said to him during a game, so he went over to deal with it with his slap video viral
Aside from a huge upset win over Iowa, Eastern Illinois basketball hasn’t been very good this year. On Thursday night, they lost their 17th game of the season. During the loss, one Panthers player got into a fight with a fan sitting courtside, which was a really crazy thing to see.
Eastern Illinois had the ball in its own half of the court near the end of the first half. Caleb Donaldson, a junior guard, passed low to Nick Ellington, a 6-foot-8 centre. He caught the ball with his back to the basket, took one dribble in transition, and then dunked with his left hand on the Lindenwood defender’s head. It was one of the best jams.

But Panthers guard Kinyon Hodges was up to no good while everyone was watching the game. He started the play by standing in the corner farthest from the basket, past the three-point line.

The play was over when Kinyon Hodges, a junior at Eastern Illinois, got a technical foul.
As the ball moved into the paint, Hodges slowly moved back toward half court. After taking about three steps toward the play, he turned away from it.
Reason behind the strike is still not known
Hodges went straight toward a fan who was sitting near the sideline. The video doesn’t show what he said on his way to the court-side seats, but when he got there, Hodges cocked his head back and slapped an opposing fan right in the face. He seemed to make pretty good contact with the fan, who stood up as Hodges came up to him and almost put a hand on his head.
Most people and the game broadcasters may not have seen what Hodges did to the Lions fan, but a referee was standing nearby. He did the right thing by giving the player a technical foul.
No more information about what went on between Hodges and the fan has been made public. Hodges was still allowed to play. In 24 minutes, he only scored two points, gave one assist, and grabbed one board.
