A Kick streamer, ‘sweatergxd,’ faced a strong negative reaction from his audience when he audaciously took money from a tip jar and used the stolen funds to pay for his food order at the same restaurant.

This incident occurred while he was live streaming in real life (IRL) and playing slots on Kick with his friends on Sunday, October 15.

The nearest staff member didn’t notice the theft and proceeded to serve the streamer, completely unaware that the money he was about to receive was actually intended as tips for her and her colleagues.

Sweatergxd went on to use the stolen money and paid for the remainder of his order with a card. Viewers were shocked and called him out in the chat, with one viewer exclaiming, “You’re on camera, idiot,” and another commenting, “You’re in trouble for that.”

Some viewers found the situation amusing, but the prevailing response was negative. As he left to get his drink, sweatergxd asked his chat, “Is it strange that I did that?” Many viewers suggested that he should tip himself to make amends for the money he took, but the streamer left without leaving a tip.

About Kick

Kick, a relatively new streaming platform, has been making efforts to improve its moderation, including adding a report button on all channels starting October 6.

However, the platform still faces criticism for its lenient moderation, with some claiming that streamers are more likely to get away with questionable behavior without facing suspension, according to the platform’s critics.

In other news, renowned streamer Dr Disrespect has received YouTube Gaming’s approval after contract negotiations with Kick seemingly fell through. Dr Disrespect had been streaming on YouTube since his mysterious ban from Twitch in 2020, but his time on YouTube was not without drama.

In 2022, he publicly criticized YouTube, alleging that they did not support him and even unfollowed the platform on X, formerly known as Twitter due to a lack of recognition for his talent

It now appears that these issues have been resolved as Dr Disrespect revealed that YouTube Gaming extended an olive branch, which he accepted, suggesting that there may be more to this situation than just social media gestures.
