Kick streamer Johnny Somali has become a hot topic of discussion after Twitch streamer Meowko claimed that he harassed her and a video of him being beaten in Japan went viral
Meowko, a well-known Twitch streamer, got herself into a difficult situation when she demanded that Johnny Somali, a contentious Kick streamer, be punished for allegedly harassing her during a live broadcast.
Kick streamer Johnny Somali beaten in Japan during live stream for racist comments, video goes viral on Twitter
On September 11, Johnny Somali was doing his usual Kick stream, walking around the streets of Japan harassing strangers live on camera and one of those guys took matters into his own hands by throwing hands, which apparently got him the approval of the crowd, as they started clapping as soon as the camera hit the ground.
Johnny Somali @SomaliJohnny and Jino @jinoirl both get knocked out on stream. Jino was on the floor, and it looks like they busted Johnny's lips at the end. What can I say? They had it coming. pic.twitter.com/3idZg1zEep

Early in September, Meowko and Johnny Somali crossed paths while Meowko was live on Twitch. However, the situation quickly escalated into an uncomfortable exchange. To Meowko’s surprise, Somali, who has been permanently banned from Twitch, has consistently proclaimed his fame there. He said,
I’m on Kick. We don’t like Twitch streamers.
This prompted her to leave the interaction. He further warned,
Bye-bye. Get banned b*tch. Get banned! You better not show me on your stream, you’ll get banned.
Following the incident, Meowko was visibly upset and tearful. She even posted about her distressful experience on X/Twitter and explained how she had avoided being banned by immediately getting in touch with Twitch staff. Also, she thanked the sympathetic taxi driver who had dropped her off after the incident. She said,
I cried because the taxi driver on the way home was such a nice guy. I hope this person leaves Japan soon. I felt helpless because I couldn’t do anything even though I was right in front of my eyes.
Meowko voiced her bewilderment about why Johnny Somali continues to be active on multiple online platforms in spite of the ongoing controversies he causes. She added,
Seriously, tho I have no idea how those kind of creator is still having place to say something on the internet like this.
After the encounter, Somali experienced additional consequences when he kept aggressively bothering others on the street, which eventually led to one person reaching their breaking point and physically attacking him.
Why is Johnny Somali creating controversy?
As an IRL (in real life) content maker, Johnny Somali has become well-known for frequently being involved in acts of harassment against natives in Japan, which occasionally lead to altercations. Following many incidents of racially offensive behavior in Tokyo, he had already faced a 72-hour suspension on Kick.
However, it appears that he has not altered his behavior. His recent controversy with Meowko is a recent example of his unchanged behavior. The ongoing incidents have raised questions about whether Kick will decide to ban Somali once again as an increasing number of people become exasperated with his behavior.
