He was undergoing tests at a nearby hospital when the other teammate Jorge Alfaro delivered a base-load single in the bottom of 10th inning to secure a 2-1 victory over Giants.

What Padres’ Manager Said?
The manager, Bob Melvin gave a statement regarding Profar’s condition after the match was over. He said, “No tingling or anything in the arms. I think what we’re worried about most is a concussion at this point, but they’re checking everything out”.
In the 5th inning, Tommy La Stella hit a popup to short left field and Profar sprinted in as Abrams ran out towards the ball. Abrams caught the ball and Profar slid in the grass. Abrams wasn’t able to avoid him and the shortstop’s left knee caught Profar square on the jaw.
Profar’s head snapped back and he lay down on the field for a while and 2as attended by the Padres’ athletic trainers. He eventually stood up but as he tried to walk off the field he fell to the ground on the edge of infield dirt near second base.
At this point Petco Park EMTs came to the field and more medical personnel attended him. Profar responded during this time and flashed his trademark smile to his fans as he was taken off the field.
In a statement, Abrams said, “I was just trying to go catch it. I didn’t hear anything, the crowd was loud. Next thing you know, we just ran into each other. … Hopefully, he’s Okay”.
At that time, San Diego Padres’ starting pitcher Joe Musgrove was working on a no-hitter and he also wound up pitching in the 7th innings of one-hit ball and he was completely unaware of the force of collision in real time.
According to Melvin, Profar has never lost his consciousness. He said, “It’s just an awful feeling anytime you put somebody on a stretcher like that. Just looking at him, the way he is trying to make everybody feel OK about it with a smile on his face, makes you feel a little bit better”.
Manny Machado, who turned 30 on Wednesday, July 6th, hit a solo home run in the bottom of 4th inning to open the scoring. It was his first long ball since he had returned on June 30 from a left ankle sprain, spanning 7 games.
The post-game handshakes were very quick. Meanwhile, Abrams, was grateful that he got a quick moment with Profar after the collision.
