MMA light heavyweight Joel Bauman may be the most honest guy on the planet; in an interview this weekend, the fighter made a jaw-dropping confession, blaming a recent loss on herpes and NFTs.

“King Bau” was inside the cage following his victory at Fury FC 61 on Sunday when he spoke up about a battle that did not go his way earlier this year.

After winning his sixth professional fight, the 170-pound MMA fighter was so thrilled that he offered two intriguing facts that had nothing to do with the fight that had just ended. The first hint was about his planned business venture using NFT ledgers, but Bauman’s second announcement stunned the live audience.

“I was fatigued and exhausted after the last bout,” Bauman said. “I’m ready to introduce an NFT that will revolutionize the battle game. And I did 30 all-nighters before that fight, and I had herpes before that fight, with two breakouts in a week. I’m here, I’m in good health; let’s go, whatever. It makes no difference.”

Few MMA competitors make headlines after claiming their fifth victory. Now that Bauman has captured the attention of millions of people, it remains to be seen what he will say the following time to keep it.

Bauman should have kept that information to himself. The fact that he willingly admitted to having not one, but TWO breakouts were the epitome of TMI (too much information). You can’t get rid of herpes if you don’t know you have it. You can deal with it, but it never goes away; you’re left with it for the rest of your life, like a bitter ex-wife.

Perhaps this was his aim to become viral, but there were certainly other ways he could have gone about it. I hope his partners were aware of this before the interview became viral on social media.
