As their club defeated the defending Stanley Cup champion Colorado Avalanche 5-0 on Tuesday night, Winnipeg Jets supporters inside Canada Life Centre ought to have been able to enjoy and rejoice with the fight video viral
Unfortunately, several furious Avs supporters were present to sour the event.
Two rowdy, possibly drunk Avs fans started fighting with a few security personnel as players from both teams were getting ready for the start of the third period. The 34-year-old man from Winnipeg and the 28-year-old woman from The Pas, according to CBC, became uncooperative and started attacking the two security officers, a 50-year-old woman and a 36-year-old man.

A few supporters in the area tried to intervene and calm things down. When the male Avs fan tackled one of them down the stairs, the 54-year-old man’s head hit the edge of the boards and he started bleeding heavily.
Players and officials on the ice watched as fans yelled for towels. Moments thereafter, police rushed to the situation and detained the Avs supporters. However, not before the female fan spat on one of the peace officers, requiring the cops to cover her mouth with a spit mask.
After being brought away in handcuffs, the two Avs supporters were charged with assaulting a peace officer and resisting arrest. The female was also charged with assaulting a peace officer. The 54-year-old guy was taken to a hospital for treatment, while the two security officers suffered only minor upper-body injuries.
From the perspective of an eye-witness
One witness described what transpired to CBC: “I’ve honestly never witnessed anything like this at a city event, be it a concert, a Bombers game, or anything else. People obviously get drunk all the time, and most of the time they just get asked to leave and leave. This included much more.” Both of the two attackers were accused of assault. Alcohol most likely served as the source of the hostility.
People, kindly. Don’t behave like these Avs supporters if you plan to attend a sporting event.
