At the start of 84th over, India was 377-9, and Bumrah is the captain of the team for the first time in place of Rohit Sharma because Sharm got infected of Covid-19.
The over started with Bumrah top-edging a short ball that slipped out of Zak’ hands and raced to the boundary.
On the second ball, which was also a no-ball, the England’s bowler Broad went for a short delivery instead Bumrah hit the ball’s top-edge to make it fly over the fine-leg boundary.
The next delivery from Broad was a full toss nearly qualified as a no-ball because of the height, this ball was also easily dispatched to the long-on boundary to mid-on four by Bumrah.
Bumrah continued to smash the other boundary to make India’ past the 400-mark. After that he shattered the Test over record with a hooked 6 and Stuart Broad failed to run out Mohammad Siraj, so the over concluded with a jumbled single. Due to this Broad now holds a new record of bowling the most expensive over in a Test Cricket Match. To make the matter worse for Broad, it was a Number 10 batter who was battling at the other end.
After watching today’s match, fans seemed to have had flashbacks of Yuvraj Singh’s Performance of 2007 T20 World Cup.
Famous Indian Cricketer Sachin Tendulkar also felt the same way as he took to his Twitter to tweet his thoughts. He wrote, “Kya yeh Yuvi hai ya Bumrah!? 2007 ki yaad dilaa di”.
Stuart Broad doesn’t have any pleasant memories from the match against India. As Yuvraj Singh had also hit the consecutive sixes against the bowler Stuart Broad in the league match between England and India at T20 World Cup, 2007.
