Video footage of auctioneer Hugh Edmeades returning to the IPL 2022 mega auction has gone viral as he was applauded by people present
Saturday saw distressing visuals mar the IPL 2022 mega auction with auctioneer, British citizen Hugh Edmeades hitting the floor during the bidding for Sri Lanka’s Wanindu Hasaranga. Video footage of Hugh, the second only person to hold the IPL auctions falling from the stage face first went viral with the auction being halted owing to the medical emergency.

While it was later revealed that Hugh was doing better after suffering from postural hypotension, a condition which occurs owing to a sudden dip in blood pressure and oxygen in a person’s brain, the Brit didn’t return for the day’s proceedings. Presenter Charu Sharma was roped in instead with the PKL director taking charge of things on Sunday as well.

However, in a brilliant gesture from the BCCI, Hugh Edmeades was invited back to conduct the closing part of the auctions with him be lauded as he returned back to the venue. Edmeades was warmly welcomed back with team owners and their support members getting on their feet as Hugh made a foray on Sunday evening.
Meanwhile, Charu Sharma is being serenaded with plaudits as well owing to the professional manner in which he ensured things seamlessly took place at the auction despite rushing in to take over from Hugh.
