Four people have been arrested following unrest during a football game in Lynn today, according to a statement from Norfolk Police about the incident. “It took place during the second half of the Lynn versus Boston game when rival fans started fighting inside the stadium.

Four guys, ages 18, 30, 31, and 32, were detained inside the stadium by officers who were on patrol outside the ground on suspicion of public order offences. The males have been transported to the Lynn Police Investigation Center, where they are being held in custody and interrogated.

With a video (below), one Twitter user wrote: “Clappery both on (red card for King’s Lynn) and along the field. When Boston was asked to arrive after an hour of tormenting one another, some of them showed up. The stewards originally fled, and it took the cops at least a minute to arrive.”

The chairman Stephen Cleeve said that Walks Stadium’s away section had sustained considerable damage. We understand most of the culprits were kids, but who on earth are their parents? He tweeted: “Very disappointed that some Boston United ‘fans’ have destroyed up the away toilets, kicking off toilet seats, destroying mirrors, and yanking heaters off the walls. For obvious reasons, there is sadly no CCTV to catch them.”

Match scenario before the brawl

King’s Lynn welcomed the Pilgrims to their home opener after their Boxing Day 2-0 triumph away to Boston United. Olly Scott scored his second goal for the Linnets in just 11 minutes, less than a week after scoring his first goal in the away game against Boston. King’s Lynn quickly took the lead. Josh Barrett received the ball from Stephens high up the field, who then passed it to Scott down the wing, whose shot deflected off the far post.

Then, in the 38th minute, Adam Crowther increased Lynn’s lead by heading the ball goalward after a great corner was put in. As the second half’s stoppage time came to an end, Tre Mitford managed to score only a consolation goal for Boston by slipping the ball past the King’s Lynn defence and into the bottom right corner.

King’s Lynn Town is in the second position in the standings with 44 points from 21 games played, two points behind leaders Brackley who have 46 points from 24 games. Darlington is in third place with 44 points from 24 games played and will play Scarborough on January 2.
