Chelsea’s Jorginho showed why he’s such a reliable penalty taker as he calmly slotted the ball into the net
Jorginho has been the epitome of Italy’s remarkable journey in the ongoing edition of Euro 2020. The Chelsea midfielder has run the show for the Italians in the ongoing edition of the showpiece tournament.
Not only has he been an integral part of the side’s modus operandi owing to his ball handling capabilities but he’s tamed attacking plays with his tackles and blocks as well. And the player’s sensational ability to take penalties came to the fore as well as he netted the winning strike in the first semi-final of the tournament.
With Alvaro Morata restoring parity for Spain in the 80th minute of Italy vs Spain and extra-time refusing to sperate the two countries, the match went down on all the way to extra-time. And with Morata squandering his penalty, Jorginho stepped up knowing his penalty would seal the affair for his side.

He was least daunted by the task infront of him as he resorted to his traditional hop and skip run up. Despite seeing it falter in the Premier League last season for Chelsea, Jorginho stuck by his guns as he chose to adopt a method which has typically worked in his favour.
And it swung in his favour once again as Jorginho paused to let Unai Simon take a false step towards the left before slotting the ball coolly into the right hand bottom corner. It was a noteworthy effort given the behemoth pressure on him, one which handed the Italians a 4-2 triumph in penalties.
