Coach Rudi Garcia attended a news conference before the team revealed the acquisition of legendary Portuguese player Cristiano Ronaldo. Rudi responded by saying something very amusing while confirming Ronaldo’s signing. “First, I wanted to get Messi from Doha,” Rudi stated. “I made an effort to fly Messi straight from Doha.”

Even though Rudi Garcia may have meant this as a joke, many people did not like this remark. Rudi’s remark was perceived by several viewers as being offensive to Cristiano Ronaldo.
The fact that Lionel Messi is Cristiano Ronaldo’s arch-rival is well known. For more than 15 years, the two football greats have been competing on the sport’s most prestigious stage. Ronaldo is undoubtedly nearing the end of his career. Although Ronaldo has expressed a desire to end his career at the top, this is undoubtedly not the situation right now.
After Ronaldo left Manchester United, Jorge Mendes, his agent, presented him to several European teams, but none appeared eager to sign the all-time leading scorer in the Champions League. Ronaldo ultimately chose to sign with the Saudi club, after initially refuting claims.
Who is Rudi Garcia?
Although Rudi Garcia may have made fun of Cristiano Ronaldo, the French coach would undoubtedly appreciate Ronaldo’s support. Al-Nassr presently leads the Saudi Pro League standings with 26 points. Al-Shabab, who still has a game remaining, is in second place with 25 points. For Al-Nassr, the addition of a seasoned great like Ronaldo would be extremely beneficial.
In June 2022, Rudi Garcia was named Al-head Nassr’s coach. Rudi has coached teams in the past, including Lille, Roma, Marseille, and Lyon. When Rudi was in charge of the French team Lyon for the 2019–20 Champions League season, it was the pinnacle of his coaching career.
After defeating Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City in the quarterfinals, Rudi guided Lyon to the semifinals of the competition. Bayern Munich, the eventual champions that year, defeated Lyon in the semifinals.
