Harlan Crow is a real estate tycoon with a controversial Nazi collection
Photos of his large collection of Adolf Hitler art and Nazi memorabilia have been shared on social media, which has led to new information about the collection.
A 2014 story in the Dallas Morning News said that a tour of Crow’s Dallas mansion showed an impressive collection of historical items, such as papers signed by Christopher Columbus and George Washington, a statue of Winston Churchill, and paintings by Claude Monet.

Crow’s collection also had a “astonishing” number of Nazi items, such as a copy of Mein Kampf signed by Hitler himself, two cityscape paintings by the failed artist-turned-dictator, Nazi medals, and swastika-embossed linens.
There are also statues of dictators like Joseph Stalin, Vladimir Lenin, Nicolae Ceausescu, and Tito in the “Garden of Evil,” which is part of the collection. The Dallas Morning News says that Crow bought statues that had been taken out of their original countries so that he could build a “beautiful oasis” to honour “man’s cruelty to man.”
Just putting this out there, but Harlan Crow, the dude who has been paying for Clarence Thomas and Ginni Thomas to go on $500k vacations over the last 20 years, also owns a signed copy of Adolf Hitler’s “Mein Kampf." Here's a photo of his book below.

A couple of days ago, I tweeted “How long before we learn the nearly $600K in dark money donations to Ginni came from Harlan Crow?” Turns out, it took about a day https://t.co/NFTyuMdpyg

Harlan Crow refuses to discuss controversial collection
Crow didn’t want to talk about his collection with the Dallas Morning News at first, but he did point out that the statues of dictators were real ones that had stood in public spaces until they were toppled by citizens at the end of their regimes, and not ones that he had made.

Even though Crow’s collection also has non-fascist items, like paintings by Norman Rockwell, tourists have said that the Nazi items make them feel uncomfortable. “Having someone explain the significance of each piece would have been beneficial. You kind of simply gasp when you walk into the room without that background,” said a guest at Crow’s house.
Harlan Crow comes under scrutiny following ProPublica report
A ProPublica report about the gifts Crow gave to Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas led to the news about his collection. Crow is said to have given Thomas expensive gifts like luxurious holidays and cruises on superyachts. Thomas has tried to play down the issue. In a recent statement, he said he didn’t know what all the fuss was about.
Crow’s collection of Nazi artefacts has been talked about on social media, which has led to more questions about the controversial collection and what it means.
