Before Manchester United’s match against Liverpool at Anfield, a handful of supporters shamed themselves by singing about poverty on Merseyside in a video that went viral of them singing the feed the Scousers lyrics
When several Manchester United supporters sang “Feed the Scousers” at a karaoke session, they came under fire. The chant, which is usually directed at Liverpool and Everton supporters during this holiday season, is set to the song “Do They Know It’s Christmas” and makes fun of Merseyside poverty.

A handful of United supporters embarrassed themselves by turning the chant into a performance of the Band Aid single, which was first released in the 1980s to raise money and awareness about starvation in Africa. Tensions between Liverpool and United supporters were already high ahead of today’s match at Anfield.

The video, which was posted by United supporters on their X (formerly Twitter) account, has drawn criticism from both Liverpool and other team supporters. A lot of United supporters have also criticized the cheesy sing-along, highlighting Manchester’s own problems as well as the fact that Marcus Rashford, one of their players, has advocated against hunger.
Everything is fun for football banter, but this is disgusting and unclassified. The location and date of the video’s filming are unknown. It started recently when United just defeated Everton, and a portion of the crowd sang the chant. In retaliation, the Toffees displayed the logo of the Fans Supporting Foodbanks campaign on the Goodison big screen, which is a collaborative effort by Liverpool and Everton supporters.
