At a recent interview, 29-year-old ex-cosplayer Melissa Turner discussed the murder of her boyfriend, Matthew Trussler, whose body was discovered in their house in October 2019.

On October 17, 2019, the couple was seen out and about in Tampa, Florida, and afterwards returned home for lunch. Hours later, Trussler’s body (then 25) was discovered inside the house. According to Turner, she contacted authorities after finding her boyfriend or girlfriend unconscious the following day. She informed the dispatcher, “He is cold. He is not responding,” Turner said.

Detective Ryan LaGasse, who was working for the sheriff at the time, remembers hearing a lot of noise from within the house. Screaming and cursing followed, LaGasse said on CBS News’ ’48 Hours. The former cop claimed to have heard a female voice saying, “get up now” and “so f***ing die.”

Melissa Turner denies all the claims of ruckus

Turner said police she had no recollection of making the sounds heard on tape and denied having screamed or yelled. Eventually though, she did say that she and her partner had argued. She added, “He woke me up and we got in an argument over that, because he was still up at four in the morning drinking,” and then claimed that her boyfriend physically assaulted her, leading her to seize his knife and stab him.

During the interrogation, investigators questioned Melissa Turner about a huge cut on her hand. She claimed them she had sustained the wound while picking up shattered glass earlier that morning.

There’s more unease brought on by the fact that a home video camera at the house caught another terrifying incident from that night. Prosecutor Chinwe Fossett remarked, “He’s walking calmly, unarmed in the ADT videos, and she’s following hunched over angry,” said prosecutor Chinwe Fossett.
