Videos that surfaced from Dutch media outlets showed riot cops rushing through the streets during altercations while some yelled anti-Israel shouts. Amsterdam Mayor Femke Halsema reported that supporters of Maccabi Tel Aviv were “attacked, abused and pelted with fireworks” and that riot police had to step in multiple times to protect them and take them to hotels.

Since the October 7 attack on Israel by the Palestinian militant group Hamas, antisemitic events have increased in the Netherlands, according to Reuters, with hate mail and threats being sent to a number of Jewish organizations and schools.
After tearing down Palestinian flags, chanting racist anti-Arab slogans, and disregarding a minute of silence for the victims of the Spanish floods, Israeli hooligans incited altercations with Dutch youngsters in Amsterdam on Thursday.
Prior to their Uefa Europa League match against Amsterdam club Ajax, some of the traveling Maccabi Tel Aviv supporters attacked the team on Wednesday and Thursday in several locations throughout the Dutch capital.

A night before the game, the AD daily newspaper reported that thugs had removed at least two Palestinian flags from what looked to be the front of residents’ houses.
Mobs that seemed to be with the Israeli supporters also attacked an Arab taxi driver, but police said they were unable to determine the attackers’ ethnicity because no one was taken into custody.
Iran’s state media has reacted to the attack on Israeli soccer fans by pro-Palestinians in Amsterdam, stating that the scuffle was started by Israelis themselves and the incident happened on Thursday after a group of Israeli fans of the team Maccabi Tel Aviv, attending a Europa League match, were chased and attacked by pro-Palestinian protestors.
The Iranian state media said the Israelis defaced a Palestinian flag, which resulted in the Muslim youths confronting the Israelis and videos doing rounds on social media claimed Israelis allegedly chanting anti-Arabs slurs and genocidal songs about dead children in Gaza, even before the attacks began.

On Wednesday, a number of Israeli supporters gathering in Dam Square were captured on camera yelling “F*ck you” and “F*ck you Palestine” at several residents, igniting altercations along with ignoring the moment’s silence being observed for the flood victims in Valencia prior to the Champions League match involving Ajax.
Fans heading to the Johan Cruyff Arena stadium were seen shouting: “Let the IDF (Israeli army) f*ck the Arabs”.
Arrests by police
🇳🇱🇮🇱 There was a moment of silence for victims of the Spanish floods before the Europa League match between Ajax and Israel’s Maccabi Tel Aviv.
The Jews present disrupted the silence with chants, whistles and fireworks. Truly vile.

As of now, no Israeli fans who participated in provocative behaviour before the game in Amsterdam have been arrested by the authorities.
Israeli far-right extremists are well known for using physical and rhetorical violence against Palestinians.
