The Indian captain once again demonstrated his prowess in the 50-over format with a score of 86 off 63 deliveries, along with Shreyas Iyer’s half-century, while all Indian bowlers, except Shardul Thakur, claimed two wickets each. Although the situation on the field may have been different, the spectators also saw a violent altercation between a female police officer and a supporter.
When the twos’ off-the-field argument in the stands got out of hand, other spectators intervened to stop it from getting physical. Before the incident came to an end, the femaleย police personnel hit the fan as he started intimidating her to which the fan also slapped her back in retaliation. Since then, the same video has gained popularity and received several shares on the microblogging platform X.
India thrashed Pakistan and remains unbeaten
In terms of the match, India defeated Pakistan by seven wickets to increase their World Cup lead against Pakistan to 8-0. The Rohit Sharma-led team, which has won all three of their matches so far in the competition, climbed to the top of the points table with a victory in Ahmedabad.
The dominant Indian batting order was never going to be shaken by the pursuit of 192 runs, and their captain, Rohit Sharma, made it even smoother with an amazing performance. With his excellent strokeplay and impeccable timing, Rohit gracefully destroyed the Pakistani pacers. Even though Rohit failed to score consecutive century against Pakistan in the World Cup, his blistering performance gave other players like Shreyas Iyer a place to start and allowed India’s No. 4 to confidently score an unbeaten 53 runs.
On the other hand, Pakistan was never able to defend a high total. They must be wondering how they allowed their good position of 155/2 in the 30th over to crumble to a pitiful total of 191 all out. This was the crucial moment that changed the outcome of the match, and India took advantage of it after taking Babar’s wicket to take control of the match. India rose to the top of the leaderboard with the help of this victory.
