Virat Kohli and KL Rahul were seen livid with the English supporters throwing bottle corks at Rahul during day 3 of the Lord’s test match
Falling in the eyes of the world after their shenanigans at Euro 2020, English supporters managed to show their true side to the global stage. For a country which blows its own horn way too loud and claims of being a country laden to the brim with gentlemanly values and ethos, the set of events unravelling after their defeat to Italy painted a completely different story.
And come the ongoing five match test series between India and England, the home side have failed to get their house in order. Racially abusing the Indian crowd during the first Trent Bridge test match, the English supporters decided to carry forward their antics into the Lord’s test match as well.
England vs India 2nd Lord’s Test Match Live: English Crowd Throws Bottle Corks At KL Rahul
The ongoing second test match of the series saw a horrific and crass incident unfold during day 3 of the showdown. The misdemeanor from the English supporters occurred when KL Rahul was fielding near the boundary region during the first session.
A raft of supporters from the home side threw a barrage of beer corks at Rahul, an act which saw KL Rahul be left visibly disturbed. The Indian team was quick to bring the misconduct to the light of the umpires as Virat Kohli complained to the match officials about what was going on.
The act has irked Indian supporters with many lauding Indian captain Virat Kohli for his reaction. Kohli was immediately seen asking Rahul to pick up the bottle corks and throw them right back the English supporters.
