The cameraman, Jhonny Jackson, accused that the alleged incident took place after Colombia’s 2-1 victory in a World Cup qualifier.
The cameraman told the local media outlets that he approached the goalkeeper, who plays for Aston Villa club after the final whistle in Barranquilla.
As per the accusations made by Jhonny Jackson, he approached the player when he was greeting the other player. A video of the incident has now gone viral across social media platforms, including X/Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and Reddit.
What Did the Viral Video Show?
The viral video features Emiliano Martinez, striking the camera, causing it to jolt and fall. After the video went viral, Jhonny Jackson, told the media on Wednesday that, “Out of nowhere, he slapped me. I was furious. I was just doing my job, just like he was. He was playing, and I was filming.”

Additionally, he also addressed the professional footballer as he can be heard saying, “Dibu, my brother, how are you? I am Jhonny Jackson, the cameraman you assaulted during the match against Colombia.
“I want you to know, it’s all good, my brother. Everyone experiences defeat at some point. This loss seemed to affect you deeply, but keep looking forward, Dibu.”
