Videos and photos of Egypt fans directing lasers at opponents have gone viral after Mohamed Salah skied his penalty against Senegal
As Egypt turned up in the country to take on Senegal in their FIFA 2022 World Cup qualifier, the home side fans came out in full strength to ensure they aided their team ahead of the showdown. Right from the moment the Egyptians arrived in the land, the Senegalese were out in full strength, boisterously heckling Salah and team with the antics continuing as the fixture got underway.
However, the home fans didn’t only refrain themselves to jeering and throwing objects at the Egyptians. As the two teams stepped up to determine who would progress from the encounter on penalties, the Senegal supporters decided to shine a multitude of laser beams at the visiting players to cloud their eyesight and dwindle their focus.

It ended up working in their favour with Salah skying his decisive penalty way over the goal. And as Sadio Mane took his chance, Senegal sealed their berth at the impending world cup, a win which came in the wake of them defeating Egypt in the AFCON 2021 showpiece final as well.
The aftermath of the encounter has seen the footballing fraternity hit out at Senegal and their fans for their misconduct. However, people have been quick to share videos and photos of the Egyptians themselves being guilty of doing the same.
