Dinesh Karthik is an Indian international cricketer who has just recently made a dramatic comeback to the Indian squad. Karthik currently plays for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Besides that, in domestic cricket, he is also the current captain of the Tamil Nadu cricket team.
Karthik infamously shares a dreadful personal history with Murali Vijay. According to reports, Nikita Vanjara, Karthik’s first wife, and Murali Vijay had a relationship that resulted in their divorce. Karthik later married Indian squash player Dipika Pallikal, while Vijay went on to marry Nikita.
The unruly incident
The shared personal history took a toll on Murali Vijay’s image among the cricket fans. The unruly incident is an example of how fans view the South Indian cricketer. A group of rowdy fans expressed their dislike for the player as they mocked Vvijay by continuously chanting “Dinesh Karthik” in hopes of distracting him during a recent match.
Videos of the incident are going viral. In the video, fans can be seen mocking Vijay while he feels awkward and tries to request fans not to chant Karthik’s name in desperation.
Earlier in the match, Murali Vijay smashed an impressive 57-ball century in the ongoing TNPL. His fellow cricketer Dinesh Karthik, on the other hand, is set to play for India in the T20I series against the West Indies, which begins on July 29.
