As the Prom Queen Sarah Mendenhal and the Prom King came over the stage to dance, the DJ played Ed Sheeran’s song “Thinking Out Loud”. The video is from a high school event in Texas, the United States.

The Grammy Awards winner song’s opening lyrics are “when your legs don’t work like they used to before”.
This clip was taken in 2017 but was uploaded on Thursday by a user “Celeste Orozco”. Since then the video has received more than 17 millions views, 3 millions likes and more than 48,000 comments.
The video was captioned as, “This would haunt me for the rest of my life if I was the DJ”. As the video was uploaded, it received instant reaction from the other TikTok user’s.

The users were very quick to criticize the DJ’s poor and insensitive choice of songs. A fellow DJ wrote his thoughts as, “I’m a wedding dj.. ouch. We can’t know every lyric to every song but damn”.
Another TikToker wrote, “My daughter is in a wheelchair and this is one of her favs. She said she would have laughed if it had happened to her. Got to have a sense of humour”.
Another TikToker seemed emotional as he wrote, “I would have been so embarrassed and just cried and left. I’m hoping this didn’t ruin her night”.
To clear the air of fight, Ms Mendenhall wrote beneath the video that it’s really funny. She said, “Hey everyone so this is me lol… I found it really funny and ironic. I didn’t know what was playing until way after cause I was tryna dance @Celeste”.
The owner of the account who uploaded the video then replied to her comment as, “Had a great prom night and a good laugh about it the next day @sarahmendenhall4”.
