The youngster appears to be a member of the Davenport Little League club in Iowa. The squad and coaches were at one point putting cotton or cotton candy in his hair during last night’s telecast. ESPN allegedly pushed this as kids having fun and a hazing tradition on social media.

The black child appears to be unaware of the joke and is not amused by anything that is happening. On social media, this has understandably sparked fury. The coaches should have been completely aware of the implication, even if the children can’t understand how it appears.

Who else caught this on the Little League World Series just now? They were sticking cotton into the black boy’s hair! Safeguard HBCUs. Stop exposing your black kids to a lot of white people without educating them about who they are. Oh my God. I find it hard to believe that was 2022. A tweeter posted.
When the boy on his right initiated it and engaged the entire team. The young black boy appears ashamed and it is traumatic. However, the @espn announcer had the audacity to say that the Kids will be kids.
Who travels to a baseball game with a bag of cotton?
It might be a case where children received stuffed animals as gifts. They tore the stuffed animal open, removed the cotton, and placed it on the child’s head. Fabric stuffing is that. It was made of stuffed animal cotton. However, whatever its source, this was not the right way to treat that person.
The adults are absent. Children are certainly not mature enough to take a step back and acknowledge that the other person doesn’t seem to be enjoying this and they don’t just come up with these ideas on their own. In addition to racism being a major issue, disrespect for another person’s body is frightening.

It was transported there in a bag by someone, right? Finding out that they acquired it from plush animals at the ballpark just takes about two minutes of looking through the comments on twitter. Without diminishing how awful this is, but the fact that you’re acting as though it was premeditated is absurd in and of itself.
