Tottenham Hotspurs stadium erupted with the chant, Daniel Levy get out of the club, after their team loses 2-0 at Aston Villa, the tenth game in a row that they have let up the opening goal
Tottenham Hotspur’s Premier League loss to Aston Villa by a score of 2-0 did not make for a good start to the new year for Tottenham Hotspur. The spurs played the entire game slowly and lacked the desire to seriously harm Villa.

Aston Villa defeats Spurs 2-0.
Dejan Kulusevski, Richarlison, and Rodrigo Bentancur were all out for Spurs against Villa, but France goalkeeper Lloris and Argentina centre-back Cristian Romero, who had just won the World Cup, were back.
Five minutes into the second half, though, Lloris gave away Luiz’s long-range attempt, allowing Ollie Watkins to collect the lost ball and set up Emiliano Buendia for the game’s first goal. Later on, Douglas Luiz doubled the advantage to earn Villa their second straight league victory.
Individual mistakes and conceding the first goal have been worrying trends for Tottenham this season. According to OptaJoe, the Spurs have now given up at least two goals in each of their previous seven league games, which is similar to their stretch in the 1988 campaign.
Villa’s victory made things worse for Antonio Conte’s team, which now sits sixth in the Premier League standings after giving up the opening goal in 10 of its previous games. It also made Emery’s winning streak against Tottenham last four games longer.
In another game, Nottingham Forest held Chelsea to a 1-1 tie.
Chelsea’s prospects of finishing in the top four were somewhat hindered by their 1-1 draw at Nottingham Forest in today’s other Premier League games. Raheem Sterling’s strike gave the Blues the lead, and they maintained that advantage for the majority of the first half.
However, Forest was rewarded for adopting a more aggressive approach in the second half when they made nine attempts on goal compared to Chelsea’s one, and they levelled the score on minute 63 thanks to Serge Aurier’s superb chest and volley.
